easter shoes for girls, boys and tweens

i have easter shoes for kids on my mind.

we live by ballet flats and leather sandals. luckily ruby is not quite ready to put her boots away just yet so i still have some time while i have been   spilling over pages of shoes and checking out what is on trend for easter this year.

here is my round up of my favorite Easter inspired shoes in all price ranges…

target gold / crew cuts gold / jessica simpson ankle strap / old navy pink stripe / peacock polka dot / zara blush bow/ zara fringe sandal

and for tweens and teens i am loving the mix of hard and soft. studs and leather mixed with soft pastels and florals…

i hate to be repetitive but zara always seems to get it just right for this in between age. not too old and not too young.

we live by…my fave tees by TOPSHOP

topshop tees

1. oversized fleck shirt 2. white short sleeve tee 3. oversized burnout tee

i am a t-shirt girl. when i find a tee i love i have to share it.

in 2010 it was this one.

in 2011 it was this one.

2012 was all about this one…and still is…if i could just find my white one…why oh why do i lose everything? and how old are you when you stop losing clothing?

now in 2013 its all about this one oh and this one.

i still wear all of them but each year it seems i need a little change. a little switch up.

okay spill it…are you a t-shirt girl? what are you loyal to?

kid’s wardrobe must haves part 2…the perfect tee

here is my kid’s wardrobe must haves part 2

perfect tee rules

best tees for girls

orange tee mini boden (similar at crew cuts) / polka dot tee / green peplum / roomy pink / heather gray

boys perfect tee

tribal stripe (my current fave) / american apparel green (a consistent basic, wash great and come in baby, girls and adult)  / patagonia stripes / crew cuts blue / o’neill stripe (i think o’neill runs a little small)

ruby tuesdays…she lives by leggings

ruby tuesdays lives by everyday leggings…

do these look familiar?

they have been a holiday staple this season.  remember them here with the sweater. with a similar striped tee here.

if ruby could pick what she was going to wear everyday, this is what it would be. ruffles and leggings.

i find that jcrew leggings although more expensive are worth it. they are thicker and wash much better then many other brands.

they are soft and comfy and with their charming designs, nine times out of ten they are the leggings she pulls out of her drawer.

we live by… top knots, head wraps & turbans

we live by… top knots, head wraps and turbans

i love the idea of a head wrap with a top knot. i would definately call ruby’s  hairstyle a “top knot”, not a “bun”. due to it’s lack of finesse i don’t think it would qualify to be ranked among the sleek ballerina types.

although the top knot has been around for a several seasons, the idea of it on your little one is not only cute but practical.  it leaves them free to play and eat without worry of their hair getting in the way or sticking to messy food, lucky for us.

when i send ruby to her public school i am always sure to keep her hair up, either in a braid, top knot or messy bun.  it is lice season people! lice season. it completely freaks me out. this hairstyle keeps her long locks up and tucked away from any chairs, dress ups or friends that may be carrying the little devils. it also discourages her from putting any hats that don’t belong to her on since the knot will interfere…yessss.

we got this head wrap  here.

here is a simple  youtube tutorial on how to wrap a scarf into a turban 3 ways .

here is a great tutorial on how to turn old tights into a head wrap…perfect for old tights she can’t wear anymore, or they have a hole or she ran through the mud at her grandparents house in them and the entire foot is ruined.

can we talk about this baby turban? i am dying. like dying to get my hands on one of these in a 4T please.

for the holidays i might make this look a little more polished and festive. many times i add a bow clip right at the base and askew to one side a little.

so what is your quick hair style trick for your little one? please share.
